The Sadgamaya Balika Sadanam

A Haven for Hope

The Sadgamaya Balika Sadanam stands as a beacon of hope and transformation for vulnerable young girls in Kerala. Founded in 2007 with a humble beginning of just five tribal girls from Attappady , this girls' home has since blossomed into a nurturing sanctuary, currently providing a safe and supportive environment for 23 girls. These girls, ranging from Grade 2 to 12, hail from vulnerable Vanavasi (tribal) backgrounds, arriving at the Sadan in urgent need of protection, education, and emotional support. Recognizing its vital role in safeguarding these young lives, the Sadgamaya Balika Sadanam received official approval from the Orphanage Control Board in October 2014.

Beyond providing basic necessities, the vision for the Sadgamaya Balika Sadanam is ambitious and far-reaching. The aim is to expand its capacity to care for up to 50 girls , offering comprehensive support that extends through their higher education and guides them towards building meaningful careers and fulfilling family lives. The impact of the Sadgamaya Balika Sadanam also reaches beyond its walls. Gramabharathi, the organization behind this commendable initiative, actively conducts cultural camps and educational outreach programs directly within the Attappady tribal villages. This holistic approach ensures that the benefits of protection and education are extended to the wider community, fostering a brighter future for more young lives in the region.
